"Choose one inspirational quote or motto that has helped you throughout your journey with cystic fibrosis. How do you live by your quote or motto and how has it motivated you to accomplish your goals?"

“Life is 10 percent what happens to you and 90 percent how you react to it” - Charles R. Swindoll Cystic fibrosis has always affected my life and always will, however, I do not let it control my life. In fact, having CF has helped me to branch out and live life to the fullest. I strongly believe in this quote because even though I have CF, I can make the most of my life. Throughout my life I have never been afraid to try new things or to have new experiences. I have been snorkeling with dolphins, skydiving through the air, and rock climbing in the mountains. I've even performed trumpet in Carnegie Hall. This quote has helped me to remember that even though I have CF, I am the one who can choose what to do with it. Knowing this, I have always made sure to be diligent in doing all of my treatments so I can continue to make the 90 percent of my life the best as possible. I have played many sports and joined many teams including t-ball, basketball, and volleyball. I have found playing these sports not only helps me to stay healthy, but I have found it is one of my favorite things to do. I do believe this quote is true, and I have lived by this. I may have CF, but CF does not control me, it helps motivate me to live my life to the fullest.
